7 Surefire Ways To Increase Your Traffic

Internet. Business. Profit. To fully integrate all of these into something that comes to a successful outcome you'll need another word.. Traffic. If you are to be successful in any business, whether online or off, you need traffic.

In the final analysis, traffic is the most important aspect of a successful internet based business company. Even if you have a great product to sell, and have your company’s internal organization set up well, and have the best converting website on the planet, you go nowhere without customers to buy your products. and to get them, you need to be generating traffic.

If you already have a site and you're not getting the traffic that you want, find a course or program that's going to help you get it.  If you don't you'll be dead in the water like 95% of websites out there. 

To help you generate more traffic to your site, below are some seven surefire ways to increase your traffic starting today.

1. Set aside some advertising capital to do PPC with the search engines;

Google’s Adwords and Yahoo’s Overture provide some great advertising opportunities that are very popular, and, if you know what you're doing, will assure your websites gets traffic.  PPC will increase your traffic, but as I said, you need to know what you're doing or it will end up just costing you money.  A lot of people shy away from spending money to increase traffic, but if you can make your ads relevant and gain good search engine ranking, particularly with Google,  Adwords and Overture are both surefire ways to increase your traffic.

2. Exchange Links with other sites

Exchanging links with other sites is a great way to establish your website in the eyes of Google, and with reciprocal linking both websites benefit.  Keep in mind though, that if you have a Yoga website, it doesn't do a great deal of good to link to a website on gardening.. and in fact could hurt your rankings.  But done right, it will enhance your sites traffic. Not only can you potentially get traffic from the other website,and vice versa, but as I said, it will help your rankings as well.  So linking can be highly beneficial. And obviously, the more links you trade, the more traffic you can expect.

3. Viral Marketing

Viral marketing helps you spread the word about your company and product, often with zero cost, or at very low cost. One of the easiest ways to generate viral marketing is to  put links to your website in an ebook that can anyone can give away for free, or that you, or they, can use as an opt-in gift.  The idea is to get word out there, and freebies are a great way to do it.

4. Search Engine Optimization

Search engines look for certain keywords in the meta tag and content areas of your website, and compare that to what people search for.  They rank your site according to relevant content, keywords, and other factors, such as backlinks, and that determines how well your website is positioned in a given search result.  So, having the right keyword and keyword phrases, otherwise known as long tailed keywords, are an absolute requirement if you're going to get ranking in search engines.

5. Write Articles to send traffic to your site

Submit articles to article sites or ezines that are on the same subject that your site deals in. If you sell car parts write press releases and articles about cars and car parts, if you have a dog training website, then write articles and submit them to directories that have pet categories.  When you write it, try to put a link to your site in the title.. that can bring good results.  Also, attach a description of your website and product at the end of the article as well as the link.  Do NOT create articles just to try and sell something to someone.  Make them informative and helpful, and you will find your traffic will benefit greatly from it.
 

6. Join forums and form online communities

Join in a market where you can show your expertise. learn new things, and establish credibility. When you've been a contributing member for a while, people will come to  trust you, and are more likely to buy from you and to tell their friends about you and your products as well. And, once you have trust, your traffic will increase because people know that you have integrity and you care about helping them and can provide what they need.

7.  Offer newsletters.

Email newsletters are a great way to get traffic to your site.  But, as with articles, they have to be content rich.  You cannot toss out sales pitches all the time and expect anybody to buy from you.  More than likely they will just opt out once they figure out that you're just interested in selling them something, and aren't actually interested in their well being.  People are smart, and they also want community, and need trust.  There are too many people out there these days that just just want to sell stuff.. and a lot of it is garbage.  So establish trust, be helpful, and you could very well gain a loyal customer for life.

8.     • eBay is no longer the small auction site it used to be aimed at the individual selling their items. It’s now all about big business and large sellers doing huge amounts of volume and that means there are far less bargains for the buyers and far less chances for us sellers who want to just earn a bit of spare pocket money.

      • When Ebay went public and became a publicly traded company their business model changed dramatically, as it must because according to Wall Street’s ‘Greed Rules’ as I call them, the fiduciary responsibility is no longer to the customer, it is to the shareholders, and the board dictates policy. I expect that may be why their CEO Meg Whitman left. She didn’t appear to me to be the type of person who would like what was coming down the pike so she opted out. Now it is overrun by businesses selling the exact product and fixing the prices of said products.

        I was an eBay seller of musical instruments and collectibles at the time and I quit because it became far less friendly. Having said that however I’ve since gone back and am using it as a means of traffic and to sell some items. It can still be useful to drive traffic to your site if you use classifieds, and they’ve also changed their up front listing policy so that it’s more mom and pop friendly. Now you can list up to 50 items a month totally free with up to 12 pictures free also. You pay a bit more on the back end than before, but it can still be useful to make that extra pocket money.
